Across Georgia, I’m hearing the same thing: families are stretched thin, and no matter how hard they work, the monthly bills keep rising. As Governor, I’ll champion policies that bring jobs back to Georgia, relieve burdensome taxes, spur economic growth and investment, and ultimately make our state more affordable for hardworking Georgians.
Making Georgia the Re-Shoring Capital of America
My plan builds on Georgia’s existing economic development strengths with targeted, performance-based incentives to attract re-shored jobs in strategic industries critical to the state’s future, like advanced manufacturing, defense and homeland security, battery production, logistics, and fintech.
A centerpiece of the plan is a Re-Shore Georgia Employee Income Tax Holiday, providing a one-time, 0% state income tax year for qualifying employees who relocate to Georgia for a re-shored project or for Georgians who accept a job in a designated Re-Shore Project.
President Trump wants products Made in America. I want them made in Georgia.
If you move jobs to Georgia, your employees will keep more of what they earn. That’s good for business, good for workers, and good for Georgia.
Georgia Jobs Fund (GJF)
My plan also creates the Georgia Jobs Fund (GJF) housed in the Governor’s Office, to support major re-shoring projects, headquarters relocations, and Tier 1 county investments.
Modeled after states like Texas, the fund would provide performance-based cash grants tied to strict requirements, including job creation thresholds and minimum capital investment. Oversight would require approval from the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House to ensure transparency and accountability.
Through the GJF, we can throw gas on the fire and truly ignite a wave of incredible job creation in places that need it most. This fund will help ensure that our children and grandchildren don’t have to go far to find a good paying job to support their family.
Energy & Permitting Fast Lane for Strategic Projects
To keep Georgia competitive, my plan also creates an “Permitting Fast Lane” for strategic job-creating projects. The initiative would expedite permitting for new facilities in priority sectors, fast-track approvals for on-site power generation and critical infrastructure.
If a project creates good-paying jobs, strengthens our supply chain, and enhances local communities, red tape will not stand in the way.
This jobs plan is another critical step in my mission to make Georgia affordable and safe.
